A Califon family farm (formerly Hoppy Valley Farm) turning Shagbark Hickory bark into syrup, tea and spice.
Arbor + Field, formerly Hoppy Valley Farm, is Ann and Jarred Bush's farm in Califon. After more than a decade on the land, they renamed it in 2026 for the next chapter of the farm.
Everything starts with the Shagbark Hickory trees growing across the farm. They forage, slow-roast and brew the bark into small-batch goods with notes of vanilla, toffee, malt and toasted wood, not smoke.
Their Sweetbark roasted hickory spice, hickory tea and hickory syrup (including bourbon-infused versions) are sold online, as gift sets, and wholesale to shops.
